Wow! Its been over a year since my last update!

Ok I really need to get better at updating my blog! A lot has changed for me in over a year, I started school and graduated school in that year. I went to school to become a licensed cosmetologist, and so far I'm doing well on my path. I have completed my 1200 hours of training required by the state of New Jersey, I passed my state written test, and I'm awaiting my test date to go for my practical exam. I work at a salon as an assistant/junior stylist, which means that I help out the other stylists but I can also work on clients.

My husband and I are doing well. We moved in with my parents to try and save money to move into a better place. It has been a very long road since we both lost our jobs in 2009, but I really feel like 2012 will be the year that we can rebuild and move forward.

Sadly I have lost all but one of my ferrets, so Fry is still hanging around, he will be 6 this christmas. My cats are doing fine, for 11 and almost 12 they are as spry as ever!

I'm going to start buckling down and doing more reviews for products. I will also try to start posting more videos as well. I have grown my makeup and nail polish collection A LOT in a year. I have also gain some more confidence about speaking about products since being in school, one of the big things is learning to communicate with clients and potential clients.

Wow I can sum up a whole year really quickly huh?

So bummed out!

Well I read some sad news today. (no worries just makeup related) TKB Trading had to discontinue the POP Collection, due to the supplier discontinuing the line. Those are my favorite for mixing, I was waiting for them to come back in stock to order either an ounce or 4 Ounces each. Well I'm hopeful that TKB will find a great replacement

I do love how TKB keeps their customers in the loop and keep everyone posted on items that are out of stock. They are the best!

Never fear makeup lovers I'm sure the ladie at TKB will find a wonderful replacement for the beloved POP Collection

Foundation Fun!

If you have seen me in my video you can tell I'm a shade up from albino. I've always had a hard time finding a foundation to match. Back before my wedding I went into MAC and had a MUA help me to find a color match, NC15 the lowest shade available. I love my MAC foundation, but at almost $30 a bottle, I wanted a more affordable everyday foundation. So.......

Today I was  playing the does this match me game. Well I think all the make up companies need to sit down and figure out what the hell the meaning of Ivory is! Most were way too dark. I check all brands, I wasn't being very picky just wanted a shade to match. I was able to find one to match me perfectly!!! It is Covergirl, Clean 205 in Ivory Sensitive skin. They also had the same shade in Normal and Oily Skin. I have only tried it on my hand so far and I really like the way it feels and covers, a huge plus for me is it appears to be very matte. I don't want to look shiny, glittery yes shiny no.

I also picked up a bunch of lip glosses, mascaras, a new nail polish, and a green corrector for redness. OH OH OH!!! My HUGE TKB Trading order came in too.

I will have so many videos and posts to work on.

So any other ladies out there have issues matching foundations? Maybe a tip or trick??

Stuff I'm working on

Hey Everyone!

I have been battling a cold for the last few days so I'm a little behind on some things I want to post. Have no fear I'm feeling better and hope to get a few reviews posted tonight and tomorrow.

A few things I have been working on are getting pictures of my make-up collection and set up, Pictures of my lovely shoe collection.  I will be writing up a review on the Ott lite make-up mirror - hint I LOVE IT! I also just got my Unii Palettes in today so I will get some info up on those, and when I'm not so stuffed up I will do a video review.

Oh and I have a large TKB Trading order coming in next week. *Squee!!!!*

My TKB Trading Collection

Hello again! Today I will be talking about my TKB Trading Collection. I currently have 62 mica powders from TKB and I am looking to place a very nice sized order from them in the near future. If you aren't familiar with TKB they are a wonderful store that sells wholesale products to make makeup, soap, and candles. Their samples are $1.50 which are either a full tablespoon or a full teaspoon!!! You can't get that in any store! General Update

Since it has been 6 months since I have posted anything I felt it was time to pick this little project of mine back up. With some words of wisdom and with the helpful push I need from the ladies at UEF (Unofficial Etsy Forum http://unofficialetsyforums.proboards.com/), I'm Back!!

So where to start, 6 months is a long time. Well my one year wedding anniversary has come and gone, not much has changed, since we have been together 10 years. Still it is a milestone of sorts. I have been working on stocking my Etsy store House of Kiz, which requires me to be sewing like crazy, but the fun part is always the shopping for supplies! We are still holding steady with 5 ferrets and 2 cats, no additions no losses (which is always good!).

Wow I feel a little overwhelmed on what to write about, I really can’t go six months without an update anymore.

I have been adding to my ever growing collection of TKB trading Mica powders, I am absolutely in love with their products! Not only are the prices great the colors are gorgeous! If you haven’t heard of TKB trading I suggest you check them out http://www.tkbtrading.com/ you can purchase a sample size of powder for $1.50, but don’t let the price fool you. Most samples sizes are a full tablespoon of powder, some of the more expensive powers will only be a teaspoon, but for $1.50 that is still a lot. If you love makeup you will love this site. I am currently working on my own haul video, but you can just search YouTube for TKB trading haul and see the wonders.

AHHH I’m all over the place I know but you still with me???

Oh! Hubby bought me a Cricut Expression which I LOVE!! I think that scrapbooking will end up being my second favorite hobby next to sewing. I now have a reason to buy all those lovely paper sets that I always thumb through at the craft store. I am still working to build a fun collection of cartridges, which will take some time due to the cost, but other than that I really love my Cricut!

I really feel all over the place, I will collect my thoughts and try another go tomorrow with hopefully a better thought out post.

Lime Crime Make-up

My newest and latest make up obession is Lime Crime (www.limecrimemakeup.com). The colors are bold, bright and daring! Now looking at some of the colors of lipsticks you may wonder "Who wears that?" well I do! My usual colors are dark purples, red and pinks, but I saw the light blue and had to have it. Lime Crime eye dusts are wonderful as well, they work well both dry and wet.

The lipsticks go on smooth and with full color in the first coat. To me they last a wonderful length of time for not being a permanent color.

Their customer service is wonderful! I had an issue with one of my eye dusts from shipment, they replaced it no charge right away! Each time I have dealt with customer service it has been nothing but a pleasant experiance.

Over the last few weeks I worked hard to snatch up anything listed on her site, now with new colors coming out soon I can't wait to get my hands on those too!

Randomness of me

I figured it was time for me to start a blog since I want to share a lot! Let me start by sharing a little about me. I have been with my now husband for almost 10 years, we got married October of 2009. We had an awesome Halloween themed wedding, about 95% of the guests came dressed in costumes. I will try and make a dedicated post just for the wedding with pictures.

I love shoes and have a HUGE collection, which isn't done growing. When I find shoes I like I will buy them in every color that I like, hence the huge collection. I love bags and makeup just as much. My latest obsession in make-up is Lime Crime (www.limecrimemakeup.com), which I will do reviews on as well.

I have 5 ferrets and 2 cats, no children and don't plan to have any, I love being the fun aunt!

So have you noticed the randomness yet?

I love arts and crafts, my biggest hobby sewing. I love to create something and see it in use. I make almost all of my ferrets bedding, and a wide range of things for friends and nieces and nephews. I have two stores on Etsy, one solely for the sale of my ferret bedding and another for my other creations. (www.ferretwonderland.etsy.com and www.houseofkiz.etsy.com). I would love to say I can create my own clothing but I'm not quite there yet.
